As San Francisco's preeminent craft confectioner of artisanal caramel products, we sacrifice nothing in flavor and taste when making our sustainable, healthier sweets!


Small batches are handcrafted in our Dogpatch neighborhood production kitchen using ultra premium alternative sugars that are minimally processed, adding complex, layered flavors and nutritional value while also being lower glycemic. The products are gluten free and do not contain refined white sugar, butter, corn syrup, preservatives, or anything artificial. These are quite simply a more healthful indulgence that is unlike anything else on the market.

Our History

Founded in San Francisco in 2010 by two good friends with a passion for feeding people delicious, healthful food, Barbary Brix is built on the premise that sweet treats don't have to be bad for you or the planet. We truly believe that you can have your sweets and eat them too!

Our Team
From a very young age, this sprite began cultivating her love of all the magical possibilities found in the kitchen. As soon as her little hands were able, she started force-feeding her loved ones sometimes strange and often beautiful culinary creations. Eventually little Sugar grew up and, bored-to-death after nearly a decade of corporate desk jobs, she decided that what the world really needed was better-for-us sweets. She's even promised not to force-feed them to anyone…
The Captain spent his college career making sure that everyone had more fun than they knew was possible and couldn't wait to get to San Francisco and start taking on life's most important challenges, making lives and taste buds better through food. Clearly, a classical culinary education was in order. On a scale of 1 to awesome, he is the AWESOME. When not leading his nationally-ranked kickball team to tournament championships , he finds time to make sure that everyone is kept in a steady supply of sweetstuffs.
